FlashtooREV stole the words from my mouth...

Well, for your first game, it's really good, and I'm definitely impressed, so you should continue working on it ;).

The gameplay was OK. I liked the choice between easy and hard (no medium though :P), and the briefing idea was good, since it's boring just seeing your mission objective pop up on a screen without any storyline to it.

It progressed pretty well too, but I think that easy should fit in medium, and you should add an easier mode. Easy's supposed to be just to get used to the game, normal to play it with some difficulty in it, and hard if you want a challenge. I'd suggest making the lives or time vary according to the difficulty. Good idea for the three locks, by the way, and I liked the fact that there was a gallery.

The zombies' groaning sound effect was OK, but there needs to be more sound effects to it, like the zombies shouting out when you shot them, the sniper shot, etc. The menu music fit very well, but there should be some more music in some parts, like some slow 8-bit music in the background, and a small 8-bit 'game over' melody when you lose a life.

The graphics weren't that special, as FlashtooREV said. Pixel art was OK, but the background didn't change much, and didn't look too good either. The sniper's vision was quite messed up too.

All in all, for your first game, it's great, and I'm sure you'll continue to be an excellent flash animator at this rate. Keep it up!

Thank you very much for taking the time to review. I'll most likely add/revise some of the things you focused on to make it better. :) Thanks!

Kinda boring, but a good idea

As they said in the other reviews, there needs to be more to do, and it is a little boring, but a good start which you should continue working on.

Animation was really good. Still, there were some strange ones (like the blinking), and it needs to be a little more smooth as FlashtooREV said. Still, loads of variety of animations, so good job. The artwork wasn't bad. Great job with the backgrounds, too.

The music was so and so. Good music, but doesn't fit too much with the game. They're a little too loud and need to be more calm, especially the second one. Some sound effects would help too.

The gameplay was quite boring, and I got tired of hovering the mouse around and watching it do different things. Doing things more related to what you'd really do in real life, like play with it, feed it, let it go to sleep, watch it grow up, give it toys, etc, would make it more realistic.

Also, a good idea would be to make it do different things even when you're not hovering the mouse around, like getting tired when you don't interact with it for a long time, scratching itself, licking itself, and stuff like that.

Overall, a good start, you should definitely build on it more. You've got the basics of the game done, but more detail and making it more real would definitely boost your score up a LOT.

Umm...

It wasn't really that helpful. I expected a tutorial where it teaches you what to do not simply gives you text to copy and paste and very little and hard to read instructions.

The speech was a little strange and really hard to understand. Also, there was no music at all, which made it quite boring.

Some buttons didn't work as well, or just took you to something random, which was strange.

Also, the layout definitely needs fixing. A lot of the text is hard to read, it doesn't have any background to it and is quite boring to look at.

It was quite short as well. It just gave some text on moving with the arrow keys and for dress up games, and I remember seeing another flash (forgot its name) where it provides AS code of much more than that.

Nothing else to say... Needs a lot of work on it to make it more user-friendly, attractive and helpful. Plus, this is a tutorial for Action Script, not Flash.

next tutorial is better

Hmm...

This wasn't too good for a tutorial. It was quite helpful, but it needs to be a little more attractive. Black and white, and a little colour at the beginning and the 'Next' button isn't that good.

This also needs a neater layout and graphics. The text was a little annoying to read, plus I noticed a few grammatical mistakes (not that it's a big problem, though, but it makes it a little better...).

It needs some more buttons as well in my opinion, like a back button, mute button and menu button (like KrevZabijak said). The art of the body parts wasn't bad, though :).

Well, in conclusion, it is quite helpful, but too simple, and unattractive. Needs some work in it, but it's a good start.

Simple, but great quality

Pretty good for a soundboard. There are loads of sounds, and the quality is excellent, plus the idea of colour-coding them was cool too.

Still, it is a little simple. Some things to make it a little more varied would do good, like a choice of backgrounds, a profile of characters as iCurrie suggested, comments for every sound and maybe an easter egg or something. Buttons next to the words would fit too, and you could colour code the buttons instead of the text to make it better to look at.

Another problem is that when you hear something and immediately something else, they clash into each other. Yes, there is a 'Stop all Sounds' but it gets annoying if you're hearing something, you think it's over when it's not, you choose a different one and they play at the same time. Maybe there could be a control to toggle this option?

In general, compare to other soundboards I've seen, this one is quite well done. The quality is amazing, and some features you added made it superior to other soundboards. A few flaws here and there, but OK :D.

Not bad :)

It's not such a bad quiz :). There are loads of questions and a lot of music to choose from so this quiz doesn't get old that easily.

The questions themselves are a little hard, though (you should at least make a 'Very Easy' with questions like 'What ID number does this flash have?' or 'Are there any guidelines to writing reviews?' just so that it could get the player used to the feel of the game.

The idea of pressing the numbers at the bottom was kind of annoying too. The questions should be a little bigger (as Soapbubble said, it looks a little ugly all in one corner) and having the buttons next to them.

Still, overall, it looks like you worked pretty hard on this when remembering all the questions there are, plus it's your fourth submission to Newgrounds, so good job ^^.

Lol!

That was so cool. Very creative idea, and the popups were hilarious. Try and make it better with more popups or something, you know, like, 'Download Vista and make the most of your computer! (For a day or two)'. Anyway, the backgrounds were good in this game too, and the music was well chosen. I wish there were different levels though. Well, overall, awesome and original game, keep it up :).

Good concept, but the gameplay needs fixing

I enjoyed it quite a lot. The graphics were amazing, and everything flowed very smoothly and at the right speed apart from some lagging which ruined my gameplay but I guess that's my antique computer to blame. Loads of medals, which made me determined to continue playing this and get those medals. What really bugged me was the gameplay overall. The jump button seemed a little out of place. Firstly, it's between your attacks - A for attack and D for Bombs, there's S to jump, which felt a little strange, when keeping in mind that most games have their jump button to the side of the attack buttons, but that's easy to get used to. You should make a double-jump though, because for most attacks to be dodged, a small jump isn't enough unless you time it perfectly. The difficulty was extremely hard. As mentioned in other reviews, there should be a lives/continue/checkpoint system or a dodge/block system at least. The enemies had a very far range of attacks, especially MindChamber. You couldn't get close to him without getting your blood splattered all over the floor. The player, on the other hand, had too little range. The weapons' ranges were OK, but the bombs' explode radius was far to small, and the bombs felt too random. I'd suggest making a target pop up on the floor which goes further as you hold the D button, so you can charge up your throw and know where it lands. I know this game is supposed to be hard, but I never knew it was supposed to be frustrating and almost impossible. A difficulty level would help, and then you could add more medals, like - win the game on medium mode, or - beat the game with all characters on hard mode. The attack moves were a little simple to perform too. Button mashing A isn't really considered attacking, in my opinion. Make another button with 'Strong Attack' so the fast and strong attack can be varied to make useful different attacks. Also, the combo system seemed useless (as far as I know, I couldn't get past PsychoGoldFish because of my computer lagging), since it didn't help you in anyway apart from seeing numbers pop up on your screen and get in the way. Maybe they could be used as currency to upgrade your player's attributes? (Speed, power, etc.). The minigame gave the game in all more variety, but I wish there'd be more minigames. The sound effects were really well done and awesome, so was the music, and the characters were good too. To summarize; Sound effects, music, graphics and characters were awesome, good variety of attributes, enemies and bosses, but very frustrating which ends up making it boring after some time and the gameplay was slightly awkward. Good job on the medals, I wish there was a sequel to this, with a proper difficulty, but as it is rght now is quite awesome anyway.

Awesome job

A really good stealth game which you varied quite a lot. Really good music, but the controls could've been better. Instead of clicking, space bar could be better. Also, you should make more items interactive, for example, hiding in wardrobes or turning the sink on to provide a distraction. Still, I really enjoyed the game, liked the medals too, and all in all, it's a great game. Keep up the good work ;).

Not bad, for a children's game

It is a little slow-moving. You should make it that you aim with the mouse, not that it aims for you. Also, if you miss a balloon completely, it takes too long to go forward and then come back again, you should make the harpoon move faster. The music wasn't heard much either, but it's still quite a good game anyway. Good job.
