Nice! :)

Good job on this, it's quite an interesting short. Wish it was longer though...

Graphics were not too great. Video quality was nothing too special (cellphones aren't too good for filming :P) and the... umm... thing, whatever it was, was quite simply drawn, but they did the job anyway. Animation was smooth overall, but the camera steadiness needs a little more work. Also, in some parts it did lagg and got stuck sometimes, but that probably was my awful computer acting up again...

Concept isn't too original, but it kept me watching till the end without knowing what's going to happen next. Could have a little more of a story, since a guy popping up behind a laptop, jumping out of a window and spreading out wings leaves you with quite a few questions: What was that guy? Why'd he jump out of the window? Why was the voice actor so worried he'd die? You should try and give the flash more of an introduction if you want to make this longer. By the way, preloader was cool, lol :).

Audio was decent quality, and thank goodness for the subtitles at the bottom O_o. You could've done some sound effects of the thing climbing up the window, spreading its wings, the wind soaring by while he's falling, etc. By the way, I spotted you (or whoever was voice acting) laughing a little right after you said 'aaaggghhh!' :P.

A nice little short that I enjoyed watching. Just work on implementing a longer storyline, maybe add some sound effects and try not to laugh after you go 'aaaggghhh!' XP.

Thank you for the fantastic review. I will try to improve based on this!

Pretty good :).

It's a nice movie, and I enjoyed it quite a bit, although a few defects put the score down quite a bit.

The animation was smooth in general, and there was a variety of different FBF animation to stop the movie from getting boring, so good job over there. The graphics were great too, but if you made the lines thinner, adding maybe some more detail here and there, and make it less rough, it'd look much better. Also, as Haggard said, the graphics started getting worse towards the end. Also, colours would be a nice touch.

As far as I know, this is an original concept, and you did it really well. There was a variety of different faces an looked cool throughout, with some nice ideas. Still, this didn't really look much like a morph but more like someone trying to draw a face but never draws it decently so has to rub it off loads of times until settling with the final one. It'd sound more like a morph if you used and animated existing lines instead of drawing some, rubbing them off and drawing new ones. Also, this is pretty short, and if you give it more variety, it'd boost your score up quite a bit.

*Goes and checks what the song sounded like*. The song really fit with this animation, and wasn't too quiet or too soft. It kind of ended suddenly at the end though, so maybe if you make this flash longer until you get to the ending of the song or at a part where the song will end without sounding abrupt, it'd make the ending sound better, and it would make the flash a little longer too. Either that, or you could add a replay button and the song keeps playing until the viewer presses it.

It's a cool flash, with a good idea put into it, nice music, and good animation and variety, but it lacks detail, smooth graphics and a non-sudden ending. Other than those, this is pretty well done :).

Cool :D

It's a funny flash movie in general, and I enjoyed watching it.

The graphics are good for flash, and although not the best I've seen (Samuel's chin looks like a backside XD), it definitely beats a lot of flash graphics. The backgrounds were great too, and I noticed that you gave quite a bit of attention to detail in this movie in some parts, which made it a little less boring to look at. The animaion was smooth, although just slightly rough at times, and the walking animation was a bit on the strange side.

You get a few points for originality, since as you said, there are no other music videos using this song on NG. I liked that you added caption option and the movie controls as well, you don't usually see those in flash videos. My only complaint is that in all the flash was a little slow-moving, with Samuel and Rosella taking 10 seconds just to walk a few steps. Still, the music took care of that problem anyway.

The audio, if not a little muffled, was really funny, and even though the quality wasn't great, the captions were perfectly done and made the lyrics understandable. I liked how you synced the flash with the audio so well.

I don't usually enjoy music videos that much, but this is an exception. The well-drawn backgrounds, captions, flash-audio syncing and movie controls make this music video definitely worth watching.

Thanks, I personally like Samuel's chin. I thought it gave him some character. I deliberately made them move slowly, because they're old. (Especially when they hobble off, drunk on Geritol.) But, it seems like people don't care for that too much. In retrospect slow is probably not such a hot idea.

Lol

A really funny movie, and an original idea, but a lot of aspects here ruin it a little.

The graphics weren't that good, and the pixels were way too large. Although the lip-syncing was quite good, the mouths were too big, and the arms didn't look like they were attached to the body. Also, Sonic looked really strange too, and so did the gunshot wound. You should make the graphics a little neater, and maybe add a background or two to this flash to remove the ugly white background. The animation wasn't smooth either.

The concept and story are what really put this score up. I never heard of a Mac and PC being actual persons in a commercial, or Sonic with them either, so you get points for originality. This was funny too, especially when PC shot the bullet, it reflected back to Mac and he died, lol :D.

The voice acting here was excellent, good quality and understandable. It's just Sonic who sounded strange but I guess you can blame the crack and helium for that :P. The music in the background didn't really fit that well with the movie; you should find a song made using XP sounds only to play in the background; I'm sure you'll find some good ones here on NG. The sound effects were OK, but nothing too special.

In all, it's an original and fun-to-watch movie, so much that I wanted to watch it more than once, but the music in the background, the animation and the graphics put down the score quite a bit :(.

RecD responds:

well, gladyou liked it anyways. I'm working on a NEW animation right now using the trix rabbit, which I guarantee will be VERY good!

Quite good for your first flash.

Pretty good job on it overall. Needs some work in some aspects, though.

The graphics were OK, especially that of the Fire Chibi, but the background was just the Windows default background with different colour, and the Chibi's in general need some working on, especially making sure the arms are attatched to the body. The Tangled Chibi could look a little better if you made the things around him look better than just lines. I really liked the artwork of the explosion, though. I liked how you made the Chibi's have different face expressions. The animation was smooth and quite good, especally the bomb exploding, the Fire Chibi's head, and the explosion fading away. Still, the speech bubbles disappeared much too quickly and it was hard to read through them so quicky. You should make it that a speech bubble disappears when you press the space bar or something.

The story was a little hard to catch on, and I didn't really know what the race really is until I read the Author's Comments after. Also, what was the place they were in, and why were they happy to be there first? I think you should give this flash a bit more of an introduction. The humour was OK, but nothing too special. I chuckled a bit when it said 'Must resist urge to kill', but that was really it. The concept of planting a bomb in a seemingly ordinary item, giving it to someone, and then they throw it back is a little unoriginal. Still, the concept of the Chibi's in general, after reading the Author's Comments, sounds good.

The audio, in my opinion, could be a little louder, but I'm surprised by the file size that this flash has after having two different songs in it, so good job over there. The song choice was fine, but the first song changing to the second didn't have such a smooth transition.

In general, it's great for your first flash, but needs some work to it. A good start, though. Keep it up.

1. It's the Windows backround because I was too lazy to make my own, fixed in future episodes.
2. The detached arms are intentional
3. Actually the explosion was a sprite I found online. I can't remember where I found it because it's been almost a year ago. However I fixed some parts of it so it fits in with the flash.
4. Yeah, the text speed seems to be a bit of a problem for many.
5. Do I have to explain everything!!! >:(
6. Sorry for the stale plot, couldn't really think of anything for a great first episode.
7. Thanks for commenting.

Pure Clock Day Flash

Not really that impressive, and I don't really have much to say about it.

The animation wasn't too special, even though there was little of it. The characters' animations didn't loop properly, and the animation overall wasn't smooth.

The graphics were fine for pixel art, especially the background. Nothing to complain over here.

The audio was excellent for the movie, and this flash has a decent file size, even though it uses a 7 MB song.

In all, a little boring, and not much to it. Graphics and audio were fine, but it was just a few looped animations and a message slide at the end :\. Well, that's Clock Day submissions for me...

Fro responds:

Lol they better have been looped properly because I already got them animated online on a sprite website.

Thanks for the review.

Lol

Not bad, for practise. A little short, though.

The animation was actually quite smooth and well done in most parts. Just the part when the bird was flying onto the branch was a little strange. Birds don't fly randomly up and down, but rather glide, so you should make it come in flapping its wings and going up in a small slanting direction, then spreading its wings and gliding diagonally downwards onto the branch...............................
.......... [Ugh, I'm hopeless at explaining things...]

Graphics weren't that special. For the characters, it was OK, but the background was too simple and rough. Add bushes, flowers, some trees, better grass texture, etc, and give it more detail. Also, the tree didn't connect to the ground too smoothly either, and the bird's pee (or whatever it was) wasn't drawn too well.

As you said, there was barely any sound which made it a little boring. Some quiet ambient music would fit well, and maybe the bird chirping, the wings flapping, and some nature sounds in the background.

All in all, it's an OK short movie, but you need more detail for sure, and some storyline as mentioned in the review below me could end up pretty cool too.

That is actuealy helpfull in many ways. and your explanation about the loco motion af a bird was fine and undeastandele :)

And thanks.. ill try follow the advises (without copying all :P)

Lol XD

Really awesome music video, especially considering the fact that you made it a while ago. Good job!

I loved the animation. It had loads of details to it, and very smoothly made. Graphics were good as well. A few defects to it though. Lip-syncing was a little off, Seymour had looked strange from the neck downward, and he had no mouth a lot of the time, as Fro said.

The music was perfect quality, and fit very well with the movie. No problem there ^^.

Overall, just very few problems graphic-wise, but really good animation, top quality sound, and some graphics were pretty good too. Good job!

Well...

Everything happened too quickly and I had no idea what was going on, plus it was really short.

The artwork was just stickmen and some badly drawn effects. Try making some good background, and make the blood (if there was any... I'm not so sure; everything happened too quickly...) have more texture and look more realistic.

The animation wasn't too smooth, and there wasn't much of it either. Just a few hands moving, some effects moving, and (I think) a stickman falling to the ground (which was just him disappearing when he was standing up and appearing when he's lying down). You should put in some transitions, like him falling down properly and the effects not coming in so suddenly.

Another problem was that everything happened too quickly. Text just flashed all over the place and I had to replay the movie dozens of times to manage to read most of the text. It's a little short as well, so you should add speech bubbles which don't appear and disappear straight away, and a longer fight. There was no sound either...

To summarize, it definitely needs some work. Try and make better ones which don't feel so random.
