What did I do wrong??

What did I do wrong??

A few days ago I got BBS Banned by Malachy, and yesterday I made a news post about it. Since then I was exchanging PM's with Malachy, asking him stuff like 'Why have you banned me?' since I didn't see what I did wrong.

It turned into a bit of an argument, but I never once offended him or went into an angry mood. I simply provided my reasoning, he provided his, I provided arguments against his reasoning, etc...

This ended up with him telling me sarcastically something like 'Yeah! I'll remove your ban and let you run around like an obnoxious douchebag to new users, it doesn't matter, I shouldn't enforce rules you don't want to follow, right?' and then adding an extra day to my ban.

I don't think I did anything which made him give me an extra day, and now I can't update for the Review Request Club since that extra day clashes with the time when I should update.

None of you probably care anyway, but oh well...

EDIT: Ban finally over. I hope he doesn't ban me again.

He's a stupid cunt and you reminded him of that fact, that's what you did wrong. There are some great mods and there are some failure mods. Guess which group Mal's in.

Malachy once banned me for the exact same reason (backseat modding).

I think he is too strict for giving out bans for that. There's a difference between "backseat modding" and "being helpful".

Also, the extra day for the PMs is ridiculous.

This seems to be a common occurance but Mal also banned me 4 days last week for just telling some new user that he shouldn't post his yahoo problems here and he should ask in another forum to get the answers he needed. I'm not saying anything against the ban but I thought the punishment was a bit strict for trying to be helpful.

You were being helpful. Malachy just doesn't know how to judge whether to ban or not, and I'm not saying this because I think I'd be a better mod than him, but since every or almost every other mod wouldn't ban it, and I know this since I've been helpful in the same way in the Audio forum loads of times, and the three mods who moderate that forum (Rucklo, Rig and jarrydn) never have a problem with it.

Okay so I read some of your reviews and I'm like damn these are long! Too long? I think they're excellent, no doubt, but I did a little test on your latest audio review. I copied it into Word and adjusted the font and color. I then copied a review of The Last Airbender from Time Magazine and matched the font and color with your review. The Time review was 189 words longer than yours, but for a motion picture. And not just any motion picture. This is The Last Airbender, and it seemed to spew out an incredible amount of horrible things about the movie. So the review is most probably longer than the average movie review. Your review was 189 words less. For a movie? Nah, for an audio track that's 4 minutes and 23 seconds long. Now I'm not saying this is a problem. I don't know what I'm saying actually...just a fun fact I guess.

Sure thing, I love responding to reviews :D. Although if you ever need any music resource (I have some VST's which I might be able to give, and a link to over 5000 free drum samples), or any help in FL Studio, just ask. I really don't think responding to your reviews is enough.

Also, my oldest song which can be considered recent is Spacewalk (not the FL Core version which you already reviewed, but the actual song which has proper sounds not FL presets), since that marks the beginning of my good songs, but that's got a long way to go :(. You can review till whenever you want, you've already reviewed loads of my stuff which I really appreciate.

If you want you can review till Cobra instead of till Spacewalk. It really depends on till when you want to review.

And about my reviews, wow, you're right lol :P. To be honest, I've reviewed one-minute long tracks which are about as big as the 4:23 one, and I even had to review with two accounts sometimes before (DarkShadow166) since my review couldn't fit in one set of 4000 characters :P. But that was until I realised it was against the rules xP.
