Good for a sketch

Not bad; it took me a little long to notice what the picture really is, but it's fine.

The drawings themselves are excellent, and practically look exactly like the characters in madness. Although the blood looks like piles of dung, as wintershrapnel said, it was still cool :P. It's only the gun which looked a little strange to me, as it's not perfectly round, and looks more like an origami gun.

What I'd wish for is some colour, since as the sketch is now, it looks really awesome. Shading here was great though, especially the shading on Hank's clothes, and on the pile of du-sorry, blood XP.

TBH, I never really enjoy sketches like these, but the work you put into it is evident, and since you make such great sketches like these, I really don't see why you don't try and add colour. Then it'd be awesome :D :D.

One word. AMAZING.

My first thought when seeing this: "Hey, I thought you weren't allowed to post photos on the art portal." AMAZING JOB!! :D

The colour scheme is very nicely done, especially that of the eye. Just the right shades of blue to make it look yin-yang-ish but not stand out too much. The colours of the background were simple, but great anyway.

The detail you did here was extraordinary, especially the detail of the eye and the eyelashes. It honestly looks so real.

The only bad things I spot here is that I think you overdid the shading on the fingers and the nose looks a little strange as Insanimation said, so you should blurr it a little more, but apart from those very tiny problems, this picture's perfect.

Honestly, keep up the amazing work. If you don't get scouted soon enough I will officially make my mind that NG's art portal system has glitched, and HUGELY glitched. I don't know what else to say, your art pieces are just out of this world! XD.

Fav'd. - Once you get scouted >(.

KrevZabijak responds:

The thing is, I mix genres in pieces that I spend a lot of time on. And I absolutely love, well, absolute black in all my pieces. I put it in every one.
Also, for example, I almost went for pointillism around the eye/above the eye, and refused to blur the nose because I did Colour Realism and impress/post-impressionism with the nose. And stuff.
Basically, I just go nuts in Photoshop CS4 until I'm happy. :)

Thank you so much for your glowing and down-to-earth review. It will be a while until I'm scouted again because I don't know how many people have been rescouted now after the DD pruned everyone with that I-Bot manipulation by the hacked Egoraptor.

nal1200 :P

Heh, this looks like nal1200's icon. Well, anyway, back to the picture - amazing...

The colours are awesome. Purple and gold never matched so well together. Really amazing job on the colour scheme, as usual; it's excellent.

The detail of the firework thing is extraordinary. There seems to be pictures of dragons' heads around the sides which look great, and the firework itself looks very well done. The concept is original too, I've never heard of fireworks which explode such awesome colours and pictures.

My only complaints over here is that in the exact midde of the firework, right in the middle of nal1200's icon (:P), I was expecting something that grabs the viewer's attention a little; something that contrasts with the overall colours of the picture, maybe a red silhouette of a dragon or something. Also, the background is a little simple. Maybe you could add some stars to make it look like the firework exploded in the night sky.

There are just a few things that bothered me in this picture, but they don't even come close to stopping me from giving you a 10. Keep up the amazing work, you had deserved to be scouted ages ago. Awesome job!

Thank you! :)

I did get scouted, but with all the trouble with the the art portal and the resets, I kept getting unscouted. All fixed now, hopefully.

Whoa...

Purely extraordinary. Probably one of the best art pieces I've ever seen on the Art Portal.

The colours are perfect over here, and just with different shades of blue, you're able to create a masterpiece like this. Everything is not too bright but not too dark, and just perfect. In short, colour scheme is a win.

There's a variety of different things in this picture, and it really looks chaotic. My only complaint over here is that somewhere at the top, almost directly to the right of the voting buttons, there's something which looks a lot like a crack in glass, and it sort of disrupted the picture.

In general, this picture is great, and fun to look at. Keep up the awesome work. It's so strange that you're not scouted... I scouted you, and hopefully a lot of others will. I hope you get scouted, so then I can fave this work of art ^^.

I am very fond of the colours in this, too.

One of the better pictures I've seen.

Nice job on this, it's one of your best, and it's clear that you worked hard on it.

The colour scheme is nice, and everything looks well together. The colours of the wall and of the camera are great, but I think the colours on the table were a tad too much on the bright side, IMO.

The texture was the only real thing that bothered me over here. The texture of the table look pretty strange and unreal, and the bright light inside the camera looks like a baseball, which is really strange. The texture of the wall was a little simple, and although the shading was excellent, you could make the wall have some cracks or uneven parts. Maybe some water damage at the top, too.

The details in this picture are OK, and I liked how you added the newspapers to the wall, but still made it look like the camera is the main attraction of the picture. As Insanimaton said, though, the camera doesn't look like it's touching the table. Other than that, the details in the picture are fine. Oh, and here's where I be a fussy critic; there's a sort of cyan small line at the bottom, a little to the right, which contrasts a little and looks strange :P.

I don't usually see pictures as good as this on the Art Portal (maybe that's because I rarely check, but whatever), and I quite liked this one. Just some issues with the texture, but apart from that, quite a good picture ^^.

I should have cropped it a bit better. I don't see the baseball thing though. You are the second one to see it. It's like I'm looking at a different picture than everyone else. O.o

One of your best.

It definitely looks cool. Just needs more detail to it.

The colours used here are very well chosen, and look good together. The colour of the wall was the best, and the shading you did here and the darker and brighter patches on the walls look very well drawn.

My only complaint is that this is too simple. As they said in the other reviews, cracks in the walls and cobwebs would help a lot, and things like a rusty doorknob, chips on the door, dents around the keyhole, dust and dirt, insects along the walls and some abnormal things like scratches of long claws on the walls and maybe leaving the door ajar with a dark red radiance creeping out of it would give it more a spooky feel to it.

To conclude, it's a simple but creepy looking picture. Needs some detail, but the colours chosen are excellent. Keep up the good work.

I may revisit it sometime

Thanks

More detail.

It's a pretty cool picture, but needs a bit more detail to it and some fixing here and there.

The colour were fine and I have no complaint over there. I especially liked the colour you used for the blood - not too dark but not too bright. There was a white patch as they said in the other reviews which needs to be filled in and not look like the guy has a hole in his face, so if you want to continue the sketch, you should work on that.

This needs a bit of texture, especially on the hair and maybe on the skin as well. Some facial hair, like stubble, or maybe some details like a spot, a scar or something would make it more realistic. Another thing is that you can't see the eyes and the nostrils are too small, but I guess that's because this is just a sketch.

To summarize it, it' not that bad, but needs more attention to detail. Still, good job on it overall.

banana

Not too special.

It looks alright, but some things are a little annoying.

The colours chosen were quite cool, but I think it would be better if you took away the red a little and added more black. As for the colour of the door at the end, I think you should make it shine a little more. It would give the picture a bit more of a mystical and out of this world feel to it.

The border in this looks really unnecessary, uneven and didn't fit well with the dark feel of the walls of the caverns. Also, to add a bit of horror to this, if I were you, I'd add some silhouettes of figures at the side, or some glowing red eyes on the walls. That is if what you were aiming for was a scary picture.

In all, it's not that bad, but that border is annoying, and it needs some more attention to detail in some aspects of the picture.

Pretty well done ;)

I quite liked this. Pretty good job on it.

The colour scheme is very good, since the colours match with each other perfectly. My only complaint with the colours is that at the side, there are some white bits which look random and kind of strange. I liked the colour you used for the rose thing in the middle, but I think that in general, the colours are a bit too dark, and when I saw the title 'Colourful Joy', I was expecting something slightly more bright.

I really like the background you used, it fit very well with the rose thing. As for the rose thing, as Insanimation said, it could look better when in the middle, because it looks a little out of place shifted to the left as it is. Also, somewhere at the bottom half of the rose thing there's a bright spot which looks a little strange since it's the only bright spot in the rose thing. I think that by adding more bright spots at the edges of the rose, it could look a bit more appealing.

In conclusion, it's a good picture. The colours, although slightly dark, are good and the background is great. Keep up the good work.

Nice idea.

Quite a good idea you have there, and drawn out quite well. Good job.

What amazed me the most was the colour scheme. Green and yellow look perfect for the joyful feel you were aiming for, and the black and green looked very full with hatred and sadness too. As HiryuGouki said, combining the colours to make a glow looks cool.

The main problems in this are complexity and detail. The fire could look slightly more fire-ish and the background needs something that makes the picture look unique. Maybe some rays of light, or a silhouette of a human body. Something which makes the picture look more related to life, or something which makes someone distinguish this picture as not just a picture of a normal candle in a simple background. Oh, and IMO, the candle would look better if it was slightly wider.

In all, a very nice piece of art, with a clever and original idea behind it. Colours were great, but it was slightly simple. In general, great job!
